The Influence of Nano-technology on the Tea Culture

Since the advent of application of nano-technology in the bio-medical field, research, development and employment on a wider and deeper scale in the said aspect have never ceased. Tea drinking, as an ancient traditional culture, has had its pharmacological efficacy accepted by the general public. Nano-technology provides a theoretical basis and technical support for the innovation and development of the tea culture of our country. Study has found that if the existing teas have been pulverized into nano grade, their pharmacological efficacy will be greatly enhanced. The reasons for it are listed as follows:

• Nano-tea possesses obvious absorbent function

Teas boast of peculiar "absorbent" biological function, which absorbs molecules of other matters called "absorption". This biological feature has been widely utilized at home and abroad. Traditional tea made is capable of absorbing the viruses, fat, cholesterol, free radicals, etc. from within the body, but the absorbing quantities increase with the increase of the absorbing areas, and therefore fail to bring absorption into a full play, whereas nano-tea can maximize the absorption function as tea particles (powders) have turned fine and tiny while occupying areas have increase to a large extent (internationally known as the gravity of Vandward).

"Prevention of Aids and Blood Virus Infection" has been patented and is under practical review.

With the increased merging of tea culture with science and technology, nano-tea fares smoothly in the circle of iced teas as well. Nano-tea is that the processed first-class tea is prepared into nano-grade micro particles averaging 160nm in diameter with its procedure named "three steps of nano-tea preparation" as shown in Figure 1. The pulverization process is controlled under normal temperature and the ball-milling section adopts pickaxes and pickaxe milling ball so as to ensure the unchanging quality of nano-tea. Nano-tea can be processed into six categories such as Nano-Black Tea, Nano-Dark Green Tea, Nano-White Tea, Nano-Green Tea, Nano-Yellow Tea and Nano-Dark Tea.

The study and employment of this nano-technology has presently been submitted for application for the patent of the state invention and has acquired the promulgation number:CN 14322 88A, and this project has obtained assistance from Mr. Zhang Jinyuan, a teacher in the Study Room of Powders of Beijing General Iron and Steel Research Institute and Mr. Gao Zhongmin, a teacher in the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering College of Jilin University. While tea drinking is accepted by the general public as a completely new medical health care concept, nano-tea will inject into the development of Chinese tea culture a gurgle of crystal clear water. Using its absorption, it can also be made into deodorant and deodorizers, helping with sewage treatment, heavy metal absorption and waste gas absorption.
